Principal’s Message

Glen Allen Cub Families,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 School year! With over 41 years of building great Cubs, we are looking forward to taking our students beyond our community this year. “Oh the Places You’ll Go” where learning take pace Anywhere, Anytime, with Anyone!

Our school family remains committed to providing innovative instructional strategies that engage our students, promote problem-solving strategies, and foster independent creativity at Glen Allen. Our efforts tie beautifully into the Henrico Learner Profile. Our Cubs will be #LifeReady! We will continue our school wide focus on differentiating instruction in reading and math, fostering life ready skills, creating hands on approaches to health/science/nutrition through our Outdoor Learning Lab/Garden area, and providing opportunities for student involvement outside of the core content areas. It is evident that at Glen Allen Elementary School, everyone is committed not only to providing a strong academic foundation, but also to providing a nurturing environment in which our students can develop into successful and productive, global citizens.

I encourage you to become an active volunteer. Along with support from our families and the community, our students will be able to acquire excellent academic skills, develop strong decision-making capabilities, and become lifelong learners. There are many different opportunities in which you can support our students. Please consider becoming an active member of our PTA, talking to your child’s teacher about volunteer opportunities in the classroom, or visit our school office for more information. Student success occurs when special partnerships are formed between the school, home, and community. At Glen Allen Elementary, we pride ourselves in continuing our strong tradition of community support.

We are committed to making this the best year for all of our students!!!
